I'm not sure what to make of this picture. Is this meeting something dark and terrifying or one of those "aww That's cute" moments? I really like this picture though especially the greatly contrasted differences between these two characters. The darkness surrounding the older, dis enlightened, bitter, cynical purple man and the hopeful brightness surrounding the younger, more innocent, kinder, and lighthearted young girl. This piece really touches me inside in that it shows so many different emotions within one meeting between two vastly different people. The balloon which the girl is holding is also a very nice touch too! I think it helps to emphasize her innocence and show her 'freedom of childhood' in a sense, she's younger and has a more cheerful outlook on life so like a balloon she really has no limits to her imagination or to her reach. Then is the multiple shadowy tendrils surrounding the purple man, to me I feel like they represent the dregs of society and conformity dragging him down along with his hopes and dreams, he's become bitter and has very little hope for the future and has accepted that he will never escape the masses standards.
Overall this was a very great work of art!
